Four-Day Search In Newry Leads To Four Arrests

Four men have been arrested in connection with handling stolen property, following a four-day search by police in Newry.

The search began in the Mayobridge area on Friday night and ended on Monday, resulting in a significant amount of suspected stole property being recovered.

The men, aged 59, 51, 40 and 37, were arrested at the scene on suspicion of handling stolen vehicles or vehicle parts that are believed to have been stolen in the Republic of Ireland.

According to police, they have all been interviewed and released on bail pending further enquiries.

Detective Sergeant Bell said: "I would appeal to anyone with any information about stolen vehicles or stolen vehicle parts to contact Detectives in Newry on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 651 of 05/10/18."

Number Of Arrests Made In Newry Search Operations
Detectives from the Organised Crime Branch have made a number of arrests following searches at three properties in the Newry area. The searches were carried out as part of a pro-active policing operation and led to the seizure of suspected Class A and Class B controlled drugs, a quantity of cash, mobile phones and a number of other related items.

Arrests And Suspected Stolen Good Seized In L'Derry
Two men have been arrested and a quantity of suspected stolen goods have been seized by officers from the City Centre Neighbourhood Team in L'Derry. A 26-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of six counts of theft and he remains in police custody at this time.

PSNI In Joint Search Operation
A joint search operation has been launched by the PSNI, South Wales Police and the UK Border Agency for a missing 34-year-old man. It is understood that the agencies are looking for Khalil Fawzy, who was allegedly last seen on Newry Road, Warrenpoint Harbour, at around 16:45 on Sunday.

Three Arrested After £19,000 Of Suspected Stolen Mobile Phones Recovered
Three people have been arrested after police recovered suspected stolen mobile phones worth around £19,000 in Banbridge, Co Down. The PSNI conducted a proactive operation while their ANPR Intercept team were conducting patrols in the A1 area of the town on Thursday.
