Armed Man Threatens Shop Worker In Lurgan

A man armed with a hammer has threatened a shop worker in Lurgan.

The incident happened in the Lough Road area at around 3.30pm on Wednesday, 03 October.

The suspect made off with a sum of money in the direction of Victoria Street.

He has been described as around 6ft tall, of stocky build and was wearing a grey hooded top and dark bottoms.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "Detectives are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have information about the incident to contact Detectives at Lurgan on 101 quoting reference 777 03/10/18. Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime."

Armed robbery in County Armagh store
Police in County Armagh have appealed for information following an armed robbery at a convenience store over the weekend. The incident happened at around 7.30pm yesterday evening, when two-men, one armed with a handgun, entered the shop in the North Street area of Lurgan, threatened staff before stealing a sum of money and a quantity of cigarettes.

Fresh Appeal For Information On Shane Whitla Murder
PSNI detectives investigating the murder of 39-year-old Shane Whitla in Lurgan have issued an appeal for information and witnesses. A post-mortem examination confirmed that Mr Whitla died of a gunshot wound to the chest. According to report, he had also suffered a serious puncture wound to his neck.
