Cigarettes, Tobacco And Cash Seized

Police and customs officers have seized more than 13,000 cigarettes and five kilos of hand-rolling tobacco.

The seizures were made during the course of a major search operation of 11 properties in north and west Belfast. Officers also seized £6,000 in cash under the proceeds of the crime act.

A 44-year-old woman was arrested and later released on bail.

Cigarettes, Tobacco And Cash Seized In Raids
Cigarettes, tobacco and money have been seized following a series of searches at six commercial premises in Belfast and Newtownabbey. HMRC officials and police from the PSNI's Reactive and Organised Crime Brand seized approximately 6,000 cigarettes, 2kg of tobacco and a "substantial" sum of money.

Smuggled Cigarettes Seized In Derry
Smuggled cigarettes and tobacco worth over £30,000 were seized by HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) officers from a Londonderry retailer. The PSNI supported Customs officers when they seized over 115,000 cigarettes and nine kilos of hand rolling tobacco from a shop in the Waterside area of the city.

Over 750,000 cigarettes and 40 kilograms of hand rolling tobacco, worth an estimated £250,000 in lost duty and taxes, have been seized in Co L'Derry.
