Mark Campbell Funeral Held In Ballyclare

The funeral has taken place of Matthew Campbell, who died after he was hit by a falling tree during Storm Ali.

Mr Campbell (24) was struck by a tree on Wednesday, 19 September, as he worked in Slieve Gullion Forest Park for Lagan Construction, on behalf of NI Water.

A funeral service for Mr Campbell was held on Monday, 24 September and he was buried in Ballyclare Cemetery.

Mr Campbell was due to marry his fiancée Robyn Newbury in August next year, and according to reports, Ms Newbury placed her wedding ring on Mr Campbell's finger during the funeral service.

A new Child Funeral Fund, offering a one-off lump sum payment of £3,056 to help families with the cost of a funeral on the death of a child under 18 or in the event of a stillbirth after 24 weeks, has now come into operation, Communities Minister Deirdre Hargey has announced.

A new Child Funeral Fund is to be established, Communities Minister Deirdre Hargey has announced. Making the announcement, Minister Hargey said: "The Child Funeral Fund will support families at a time of devastation and sadness in their lives and help ease the financial pressures that can come with the death of a child.
