Man Arrested In Connection With L'Derry Drugs Probe Released
A 48-year-old man arrested as part of a major investigation into drugs supply and money laundering in L'Derry has been released pending a report to the PPS.
A 34-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman arrested in Newtownabbey as part of the same investigation both remain in custody. Both were arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm and ammunition with intent to endanger life and possession of a firearm and ammunition in suspicious circumstances.
Detective Inspector Tom McClure said: "The arrests are linked to the seizure of a substantial quantity of suspected Cocaine and Herbal Cannabis with an estimated street value of over £750,000 that was seized from a vehicle that was stopped by police in Belfast on 08 February 2017.
"This was a significant haul of drugs recovered by our officers as part of a proactive operation targeting criminals intent on making money from illicit drugs.
"I am pleased to have removed a suspected firearm and ammunition which had the potential to cause serious harm.
"We will continue in our efforts to make Northern Ireland a safer place to live and work by proactively investigating and arresting people involved in serious criminality."

Two arrested following police raids
Two men have been arrested following police searches in north Belfast. Two handguns, ammunition, drugs worth an estimated street value of £27,000, documents and around £17,000 in cash, were seized during the raids, which are believed to be linked to organised crime in the city.

Three men have been arrested following separate drugs finds in Belfast and Co. Londonderry on Monday. A 38-year-old man was arrested following the discovery of drugs, worth an estimated £50,000, in east Belfast. He was subsequently charged with being in possession cannabis with intent to supply following the drugs seizure at Garnerville.

A Newtownabbey man has been handed a custodial sentence for a series of drugs offences following police raids as part of a paramilitary probe. 49-year-old William Axon will serve two years imprisonment, half in custody and half on licence.

Massive Drugs Find After Disqualified Driver Stopped By Police
A large quantity of drugs has been seized by police in Lisburn after they stopped a disqualified driver on New Year's Eve. The discovery was made on Monday 31 December, the same day that officers in the city arrested two people after a gun and suspected Class A drugs were found during three searches in the area.
