A growing number of roads across Northern Ireland are closed due to adverse weather conditions as a result of Storm Ali.

Belfast: Montrose Street, off the Albertbridge Road remains closed after the collpase of a derelict building.



Storm Ali is expected to bring a very windy spell of weather with gusts of 65-75 mph inland.

Over 50,000 households across NI have also been left without power due to Storm Ali.

A statement from NI Electricity Networks said: "Due to the number of faults we are currently experiencing on the network, we are unable to provide an estimated restoration time for electricity supply at this time. We are working to restore supplies as quickly and safely as possible."



A number of Translink NI services have also been affected by the current weather condition.

Affected Metro services include:

• Service 30a will now omit Ormeau Embankment will operate as a 30 service until further notice.

• Service 80 will operate to / from Ardoyne only (tree down on Alliance Ave).

• Service 1E will operate to / from Trench Road, Roughfort will not be served until further notice.

• Services 27 & 28 will omit the Circular Road & Garnerville Road respectively - they will operate in / out via the Holywood Road.

• Service 7 diverted inwards straight down the Ravenhill Road – not going via Ormeau Road or University Ave…services outwards will operate via Donegall Pass.

Antrim Area

• 109a services unable to serve the stop at Nutts Corner and at North St. Set down and pick up for North St. will be on the main Moira Rd (fallen trees).

• Trees down at Niblock Rd, Muckamore, Filter Beds, Nutts corner, Ballinderry, Barnish Rd.



Ballymena Area

• 09:30 130 Larne to Ballymena & 10:30 130 Ballymena to Larne disrupted due to fallen trees (Church Road, Glenwherry is currently blocked).



Coleraine Area

• There is a tree down on the Hillhead Road between Knockloughrim and Castledawson...thereforet our 116 service is diverted onto the Glenshane road and into Magherafelt omitting Castledawson.

• 178 Coleraine Ballycastle Services omitting Loughan and Balnamore (operating direct from Coleraine - Ballymoney and Ballymoney - Coleraine).

• 131/217 Ballycastle - Ballymena Services being assessed due to reports of a tree down at the Quarry Bend.
