Whiteabbey Flood Alleviation Scheme Complete
The Department for Infrastructure has announced the completion of a £275,000 flood alleviation scheme in Whiteabbey.
The project was developed to reduce the risk of flooding to 29 properties in Whiteabbey through the replacement of an existing inadequate and structurally defective masonry culvert.
The scheme involved the construction of a new precast concrete box culvert in Glenville Way, and scour protection works downstream of the Shore Road.
These works were undertaken by Lowry Building and Civil Engineering.
Jolene Bunting Suspended From Belfast City Council
Jolene Bunting has been issued a four month suspension from Belfast City Council.
The Local Government Commissioner for Standards is investigating 14 complaints made against Ms Bunting's behaviour as a councillor.
However, Ms Bunting is the first councillor to be suspended while the outcome of the investigation is pending.
According to reports, Ian Gordon, the acting commissioner for Standards, has said that there is evidence Ms Bunting had failed to comply with the councillors' code of conduct, and said he found it likely that subsequent publicity is likely to have had a negative impact on public confidence.
Police Appeal For Information Following Armed Robbery In Ballymena
Police have issued an appeal for information following an armed robbery in Ballymena.
Shortly before 11.45pm on Monday 17 September, three men armed with a hatchet, crowbar and suspected gun, broke into a house in Ballymena.
A man in the house was threatened by the men, who stole money and a gold chain. The man suffered minor injuries in the incident.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police.

Man Shot Dead In Ballymoney
A man in his 40s has been shot dead in Ballymoney, Co Antrim. The incident happened outside a house at Riverview Park at around 10.30pm on Monday (5 January). He has since been named as Brian McIlhagga. He was 42. He had been beaten by an armed gang and shot once in the leg. The father-of-five, originally from Ballymena, died from his injuries.
