WWII Device Made Safe In Lough Foyle
A World War II device found in Lough Foyle has been made safe, the PSNI have confirmed.
A police spokesperson revealed Royal Navy clearance divers carried out a controlled explosion on Wednesday, 12 September, after the device was discovered in the Lough close to the Campsie area of L'Derry.
The PSNI stated: "Following the discovery of a World War 2 device in Lough Foyle, close to the Campsie area of Derry / Londonderry, Royal Navy clearance divers attended the scene this evening and made the item safe by carrying out a controlled explosion under the water."

Lost 1958 Royal Navy 'Dragonfly' Helicopter Found In Lough Foyle
The site of a are Royal Navy 'Dragonfly' helicopter which crashed in 1958 has been identified as part of the Northern Ireland 3D Coastal Survey of the entire NI coastline. The survey has been commissioned by the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA) Marine & Fisheries Division.

As a scenic cross border transport link remains in jeopardy, a Coleraine Sinn Féin councillor has urged NI Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster to take action to save the ferry. Billy Leonard wants the DUP Minister to play her part along with other Stormont Executive colleagues to save the Magilligan ferry service to Greencastle.

Zebra Mussels continue to spread
The Department of the Environment (DOE) has confirmed concern that Zebra Mussels have spread to Lough Neagh. Zebra Mussels were first discovered in Northern Ireland in Lough Erne in 1997 and every effort has since been made to prevent their spread to other waterways.

Man remanded in custody following arms find
A 39-year-old man has been remanded in custody until November 21 after appearing before Belfast Magistrates Court today in connection to an arms find on the outskirts of Belfast. Phillip George Shaw, from Carlan Close in Belfast, appeared before the court on charges connected to a major weapons seizure in the Rathcoole estate on Tuesday.
