Queen's Film Theatre Unveils Plans To Celebrate 50th Anniversary

Queen's Film Theatre in Belfast has announced a month of events to celebrate its 50th anniversary milestone.

QFT50 will be celebrated with a number of movies and special events, including exclusive premieres and guests.

The celebrations come just weeks after a £350,000 refurbishment was completed at the cinema.

The cast and crew of 'Derry Girls' will attend a screening of the final two episodes of season one, shortly followed by a Q&A.

Other guests include The Observer's chief film critic Mark Kermode and Irish playwright, screenwriter, film director and film producer, Jim Sheridan.

The celebrations will kick off on 05 October with a preview of 'First Man', a movie starring Ryan Gosling as celebrated astronaut Neil Armstrong.

More than 30 special events will take place across the month, closing with a screening of director Steve McQueen's 'Widows' on 31 October.
