Body Found In Lough Erne

A body has been recovered during searches for a missing man in Lough Erne, Co Fermanagh.

Two men were jet skiing on the Lough when they were involved in an accident on Sunday, 09 September.

Emergency services were alerted to the incident in the water near Muckross Bay in Kesh at around 5.30pm.

RNLI boats were at the scene almost immediately.

One man was rescued approximately 100 metres from the shore by a passing boat.

A post-mortem will be carried out on the body, police have confirmed.

The death is not being treated as suspicious at this time.

Zebra Mussels continue to spread
The Department of the Environment (DOE) has confirmed concern that Zebra Mussels have spread to Lough Neagh. Zebra Mussels were first discovered in Northern Ireland in Lough Erne in 1997 and every effort has since been made to prevent their spread to other waterways.
