Using Design To Think Outside The Plastic Box

Environmental sustainability and business don’t always go hand in hand. Although advancing technologies can boost green-friendly packaging alternatives, many companies continue to use cheaper plastic options.

In our next Design Awareness workshop we will hear about the importance of design in this era of balancing sustainability and environmental pressures with business economics.

We will explore how these new trends can impact SMEs and how innovative design can help to provide alternatives that are effective as well as affordable and practical.

The workshop will focus on:

• An overview of the environmental challenge and sustainability trends and implications for small businesses

• Real-world examples of how to fully address the challenge of environmentally friendly packaging using sustainable practices throughout the custody chain

• The importance of innovation and design in sustainability

• Local case study – showcasing alternative packaging design solutions to the environmental challenge.

There will be opportunities to talk to design professionals and experts in the sustainability arena as well as Invest NI staff explaining Innovation Vouchers, IP and other support options that could help move your business forward.

Registration and more information is available here.
