Warning Issued Following Burglaries In South Belfast

Police in South Belfast have issued a warning to people to make sure they lock their doors, following a spate of burglaries in the area.

Posting to their Facebook page, Constable McCoy, wrote: "Do you forget to lock your door? Don't let a burglar remind you.

"Six burglaries reported in South Belfast over 13th/14th all believed to be via unlocked front or back doors. With most houses now having a UPVC or composite type door it's really not that difficult for a burglar to walk down a street trying door handles, eventually they get lucky.

"All occurred during the night time with residents totally unaware until they woke up to find drawers pulled out and items stolen.

"Cutting crime starts with you."
