2nd Round Of Innovate UK Grant Funding Competition Launched
As part of UK Research and Innovation, Innovate UK has launched the 2nd round of their open grant funding competition, that will see them investing up to £20 million in the best cutting-edge or disruptive ideas or concepts with significant potential for impact on the UK economy.
Applications can come from any area of technology, science or engineering, including arts, design, media or creative industries.
All proposals must be business focused rather than pure research. To be eligible, ideas should be significantly ahead of others in the field, set for rapid commercialisation. Proposals can fit into, or be outside of, one or more of the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund areas.
The competition provides funding for different stages of research and development – from feasibility and market research, through to technology or prototype testing and development, up to (but not including) commercialisation.
Proposals must demonstrate clear, considerable potential to significantly impact the UK economy and/or productivity in a positive way. Preference will be given to applications that demonstrate realistic, significant potential for global markets.
Projects are expected to range in size from total costs of £25,000 to £2 million and should last between six months and three years.
The competition is open now and closes on 12 September 2018 at 12:00 noon.
Full details of the competition are available here.
