Image Released After Taxi Driver Attacked In Belfast

An image of a man has been released after a taxi driver was attacked in Belfast city centre.

The taxi driver had his jaw broken by the suspect who also tried to make off in his vehicle in the High Street area at around 3.30am on Monday, 06 August.

The victim received hospital treatment.

Police have described the attack as "completely unprovoked".

PSNI Detective Inspector McDonnell said: “We have been carrying out various enquiries since the incident and by releasing this image today we hope to progress our enquiries further.”

"Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."

Taxi driver attacked in Londonderry
A Londonderry taxi driver has escaped injury after his car came under attack at the weekend. The incident happened at around 3.20am on Sunday. It has been reported that the driver had just dropped off a fare at Duncastle Park in the Newbuildings area of the city, when his vehicle was attacked.
