Number Of 'Suspicious Items' Removed From Milltown Cemetery

A number of "suspicious" items have been removed from Milltown Cemetery in Belfast.

It is understood that police attended the cemetery in West Belfast following reports of a "number of suspicious items".

Police confirmed that officers attended and have taken a number of items away for examination.

Investigations are ongoing.

Shots Fired At House In Lurgan

Number Of Items Found During East Belfast Security Alert
A number of items have been found during a security alert in east Belfast. Residents had to be evacuated from their homes as police sealed off part of Grand Parade on Wednesday evening, 08 November. Army bomb disposal experts attended the scene and removed a number objects. They have been taken away for further forensic examination.

Arson Attack On Milltown Memorial
A memorial in Milltown Cemetery in west Belfast has been significantly damaged in an arson attack. Sinn Fein MP Paul Maskey condemned the attack on the memorial to the British Legion. Material was pushed against it and set on fire. Mr Maskey said: "The attack on the war memorial in Milltown Cemetery must be condemned in the strongest terms.

Clough Gun Attack 'Sectarian'
Police have said they are treating a shooting incident in the County Down village of Clough as sectarian. Two parked cars were shot at and damaged in the Claragh Court area. Shots were fired at the vehicles in the early hours of Friday morning. Police said the windscreens were smashed in the incident.

Weapons uncovered in west Belfast
Police uncovered a cache of weapons during the search of a cemetery in west Belfast yesterday. Two handguns, shotgun cartridges and other items were discovered by officers in the grounds of the cemetery at Hannahstown Hill on Wednesday afternoon.
