Eight Children Escape Injury In Arson Attack

Police believe a fire at a house in Antrim was the result of an arson attack.

It is understood that 10 people – eight of them children aged between one and 13 – escaped injury when an accelerant was used to deliberately start a fire at the property in the Islay Street area of Antrim just after midnight.

Detectives are treating the incident as arson with intent to endanger life.

Anyone who saw anything suspicious, or who has any information, is asked to contact police on 101.

Suspected arson attack in County Antrim
Police in County Antrim have appealed for information following a suspected arson attack at the weekend. The incident happened at around 3.45am yesterday morning, when a shed at a property in the Woodside View area of Dunmurry, was set alight. The fire then spread to the house, where the family were asleep inside.

Investigation Launched Following Arson Attack In Belfast
Police have launched an investigation following an arson attack at a property in Belfast. A rag was put through the door of a house in the York Road area and set alight. Significant damage was caused to the door and the hall. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Four Teens Arrested Over Fire At Florence Court
Four teenagers have been arrested in connection with a suspected arson attack on a property at Florence Court estate in Enniskillen. The National Trust house, which had a thatched roof, was set on fire on Thursday at approximately 8.30pm. Four teenage boys, three aged 15 and one aged 14, are currently in police custody.

Fire injures five in Ballymurphy house blaze
A suspected arson attack on a house in west Belfast has injured five people. Emergency services were alerted to the blaze at the house in Whitecliff Parade in the Ballymurphy area at around 1.30am. Four women were treated for the effects of smoke inhalation while a fifth person suffered leg injuries after jumping from a first floor window.
