Energy saving technologies on show at Belfast exhibition
Local companies will be able to learn about energy saving technologies, which could help them cut energy costs at the Invest Northern Ireland Energy Show, which takes place at the Ramada Hotel on Thursday January 22.
In all 46 exhibitors from across the UK, will be demonstrating a range of innovative products that companies can use to help cut back spending on potentially high cost operating overheads, such as lighting, heating, electric motors, controls and refrigeration.
Wind turbines, solar heat collection, combined heat and power systems and biomass are just some of the new technologies that will be on display. Many of the products are show at the exhibition will be also be listed in the Government’s Enhanced Capital Allowance, Energy Technology List.
The event will also feature ‘Masterclasses’ that will offer participating companies an opportunity to pick up energy-saving tips from UK energy experts.
Tracy Meharg, managing director of Invest NI’s Innovation and Capability Development Services said: “ The Energy Show is an important event for every business, large and small, using energy. The opportunities presented and the benefits that energy saving technology bring to a business are considerable.”
Ms Meharg said that the technologies demonstrated at the show could produce energy savings, giving five-year payback periods, which would entitle many small to medium-sized enterprises, in particular, to an interest-free loan from the Action Energy Loan Scheme to install the relevant equipment.
Ms Meharg said: “Many of the technologies will achieve payback periods of less than two years. Through our Business Development Solutions we offer companies extensive advice and assistance in energy saving technology that helps them strengthen their overall competitiveness.”
The Energy Show is open to all Northern Ireland companies and runs from 7:30am to 6pm. Admission is free.
