Tributes Paid To Cricketer Gordon Brown
The late president of Carrickfergus Cricket Club has been described as a "legend".
Father-of-two, Gordon (Gordy) Brown, aged 42, died on Monday, 18 June, after he collapsed during a game in Muckamore two years ago due to a brain tumour.
In a statement Carrickfergus Cricket Club said they were devastated following his death.
"Gordy loved life and his enthusiasm even when he was feeling poorly was an inspiration to everyone who met him and those of us lucky enough to have spent some wonderful evenings in his company.
The Club has been inundated with messages of condolences from Gordy’s friends from all over the world and we would like to thank each and every one of you for your kind thoughts. Gordy had expressed his wishes that he wanted to fund raise in aid of Brainwaves N.I. and anyone wishing to donate in his memory can do so at www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Gillian-Hunt2. We know Gordy would appreciate that."

The players were found not guilty of rape at a trial earlier this year. However, their Ulster and Ireland contacts were revoked over Whatsapp and text messages that had been revealed in court.

Beach Tragedy Girl Laid To Rest
The funeral has taken place of an 11-year-old girl who died when she got into trouble in the sea at Portballintrae on Sunday. Bethany Cousins was rescued from the sea where she was swept away while bodyboarding, but the emergency services were unable to save her. She was taken to the Causeway Hospital in Coleraine but sadly died on Sunday evening.
