Man Charged With Terrorism Offences After Weapons Seized In Tyrone

A man has been charged with terrorism offences after weapons were seized in Co Tyrone.

Police found weapons and ammunition at a garage unit in the Mountjoy Road area of Coalisland in 2011, as part of an investigation into the murder of Constable Ronan Kerr.

The 34-year-old is due to appear in court in Dungannon today, 20 June.

He faces charges of possession of a firearm with intent, possessing explosives with intent to endanger life or cause serious injury to property, and possession of articles for use in terrorism.

Man Charged With Manslaughter
A man has been charged with manslaughter following the death of a 51-year-old man in Newry. The man died in the Dublin Road area on Wednesday, 17 January. The 32-year-old suspect has also been charged with drugs offences including possession of heroin with intent to supply. He is due to appear before Newry Magistrates Court on Thursday, 18 January.

Weapons Seized During Co Tyrone Funeral
Three men have been arrested and a number of weapons seized following a disturbance at a funeral in Strabane. No serious injuries occurred during the incident at a church on the Melmount Road this morning, Thursday 27 February, however Stanley knives and a hatchet were among the items removed from the scene.

Further Arrest Under Terrorism Act Linked To New IRA Weapons Find
A man has been arrested under the Terrorism Act by police following the discovery of suspected New IRA weapons earlier this month. During a fire in a boiler house in west Belfast on 14 November, police found a significant haul of rifles and ammunition. The weaponry is believed to have been used by the New IRA in previous crimes.

Man charged over loyalist weapons find
Police have charged a 38-year-old man in connection with the an arms and ammunition find in Newtownabbey yesterday. The man was arrested after police uncovered a quantity of long and short arms, pipe bombs, a booby-trap device and a substantial amount of ammunition in the roof space of a building in the loyalist Rathcoole estate.
