Major Fish Kill In Armagh
Over 1,000 fish have been killed by pollution in a river in Co Armagh.
The Northern Ireland Environment Agency were alerted to the River Callan on Tuesday, 12 June.
An investigator attended the scene and a small number of fish were confirmed dead and the river was running with black discolouration.
The inspector traced the discoloured pollutant and identified that the impact was coming from a specific tributary to the River Callan upstream of Armagh City.
Around 1,000 brown trout and 100 salmon have been found and the investigation is ongoing.

A major fish kill has been reported in County Armagh. It is believed to have been caused by pollution from farm waste, according to the Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA). At least 60 fish have been reported to have been found dead in the Bessbrook River. The NIEA expect this number to rise.

Hundreds of fish have been killed in a County Armagh river in a major environmental disaster caused by farm effluent. The fish kill was discovered on the Forkhill river near the south Armagh border by a local angler on Monday morning.

Water quality inspectors were in Co Armagh yesterday after a report through the Water Pollution Hotline that dead fish had been spotted in the Corcrain River in Portadown. The Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA) has confirmed that it is probing a possible fish kill incident in the waterway, which is also known as the Ballybay River.

Derry Crash A man has been taken to Altnagelvin hospital following a crash at Gransha roundabout in Londonderry. Two lorries collided on Clooney Road at approximately 9.20am Tuesday morning. The extent of the man's injuries is currently unknown. Following the accident, the Limavady bound carriageway was closed.

NIEA Issues Warning Over Summer Pollution
