Resurfacing Work Begins In Lurgan
Construction work has commenced to resurface Kiln Road and Lough Road in Lurgan today, 11 June.
The £340,000 scheme will resurface both roads with extra large scale patching works also taking place on Kiln Road.
A 1.3km section of the Lough Road will be resurfaced from its junction with Albert Street in the direction of the M1.
A number of road closures will be in effect on both roads throughout the duration of the scheme. Traffic diversions are also in place.
Work is expected to be completed by 06 July.
Call For Paramilitary Banner In East Belfast To Be Taken Down
Alliance Councillor David Armitage has called for a newly-erected paramilitary banner in East Belfast to be taken down.
The UVF banner was displayed over My Lady's Road and Cllr Armitage said it should not have been put up in the first place.
"This banner is nothing more than an act of intimidation and should not have been put up in the first place," he said.
"It is designed to do nothing more than attempt to showcase control over the area by an illegal paramilitary organisation. The majority of people here do not want to see it, instead wanting to live in an area open to everyone in the community and free of the poison of paramilitarism.
"I have reported this banner to the police, while my party colleagues, including Naomi Long MLA, are seeking an urgent meeting with the PSNI over a number of issues, including intimidation such as this."
YouTube Urged To Explain Why Footage Of Bands Has Been Removed
The Chair of the Ulster Unionist Councillors' Association, Trevor Wilson, has called on YouTube to explain why, over the weekend, it chose to close down a number of accounts and remove footage of local marching bands.
Councillor Trevor Wilson said: "The local band scene is thriving and is a key part of unionist culture, providing a great deal of colour and musical skill throughout the summer months, and is the source of pleasure and enjoyment for tens of thousands of people.
"Over the weekend, I and a number of party colleagues, including former MLA Jenny Palmer, have been approached by members of the local band fraternity regarding action taken by You Tube.
"There is a great deal of anger out there that a number of accounts have been closed without explanation or warning, and hundreds of hours of footage lost as a result.
"I am therefore calling on You Tube to explain why they chose to take the action they have and to re-instate the footage they have removed."

Man Dies In Workplace Accident In Co Armagh
A man has died in a workplace accident in Co Armagh. It is believed the man was crushed by a road roller while a new road surface was being laid on the Bog Road, Forkhill, on Wednesday, 31 May. Police and the Health and Safety Executive have launched an investigation.

Woman Killed In Co Armagh Road Collision
A woman in her 30s has been killed in a road crash in Portadown, Co Armagh. The woman was hit by a car as she was walking on the side of the Moy Road at around 9.45pm on Tuesday. The road was closed for a short time but it has been reopened. Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact them.
