Man Convicted Of Benefit Fraud
A man has been convicted for claiming benefits he was not entitled to at Craigavon Magistrates' Court.
Giedrius Botyrius claimed Income Support and Housing Benefit totalling £515 while failing to declare employment. He was given a Supervised Activity Order for 20 hours.
Mr Botyrius has repaid all money wrongfully obtained to the Department for Communities.
£300,000 Road Improvements Complete In Newry
Construction work to improve the B8 Newry Road near Mayobridge in Down is now complete.
The £300,000 scheme improved the road alignment and forward visibility on the B8 between Mayobridge and Hilltown.
It is also expected to enhance visibility for traffic exiting the Ballydoo and Edentrumly junctions.
DUP Welcomes Expansion Plans At Heathrow Airport
DUP Parliamentary Party Leader, Nigel Dodds MP, has welcomed the decision by the Government to support the expansion of Heathrow Airport.
He said: "The DUP has been longstanding supporters of a third runway at Heathrow, given its importance to Northern Ireland. Heathrow acts as a key route for access to London, mainland Europe and other important markets.
"Our connectivity to global business and inward tourism markets is dependent on the high frequency, economic and easy to use connections to international flights through a hub airport such as Heathrow.
"As one of Europe's largest projects, the benefits of the expansion will be huge for Northern Ireland, with up to 5,000 new jobs and £5bn of economic growth predicted in Northern Ireland alone.
"We are pleased that six sites across Northern Ireland are in the running to become a logistics hub for the expansion project. We will continue to work with Heathrow to ensure the case is made for these sites."

Three benefit frauds from across NI have been handed down gaol sentences for defrauding the Government of money to which they were not entitled. James Logue (45) of Main Street, Castlederg was convicted at Strabane Magistrates' court after he claimed Housing Benefit totalling £2,057 by making a false statement of occupation.

Irish national carrier, Aer Lingus, has said it is pleased that is has achieved a 42% share on the Belfast to London Heathrow route. Seven months after it began flying between the two cities, the airline says it is well on its way to taking half the market share from BMI.
