Warning For Thunderstorms Issued In NI
A yellow weather warning for thunderstorms has been issued in some parts of Northern Ireland.
The Met Office has put the warning in place from 10pm on Friday, 01 June, and a second warning has been issued for Saturday, 02 June.
Heavy rain, downpours of hail and thunder and lighting is expected, according to forecasters.
The Met Office said people should expect:
• A chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds
• A chance of fast flowing or deep floodwater causing danger to life
• Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services
• Spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures
• A chance that power cuts could occur due to either flooding or lightning strikes. Other services to some homes and businesses could be lost.

Slow-moving heavy thunderstorms are expected to develop on Saturday afternoon between 12am – 9pm, with potentially up to 20mm of rain to fall in less than an hour and 30 – 50mm possible in three hours.

Initiative promises business 'failures' a second chance
A ground-breaking initiative designed to help people who have ‘failed’ in business to reclaim their entrepreneurial spirit has been launched in Belfast. The Second Chance Programme, which has been developed by Ortus, the Business Development Agency, will assist former sole traders, partners and company directors to get back into business.
