Polls Open In Ireland's 8th Amendment Referendum
Polls have opened in Ireland for the country's referendum on the 8th Amendment, which aims to reform the state's abortion laws.
The 8th Amendment, introduced in 1983, effectively bans abortion in Ireland – termination is only allowed if the woman's life is at risk.
Polls opened at 7am and will close tonight at 10pm.
More than 100,000 new voters registered ahead of the referendum, with over 3.2 million eligible to participate in today's vote.

Appeal After Waterside School Ransacked
Police in L'Derry are investigating a burglary at a school on Trench Road in the Waterside. The incident was reported to police on Sunday, December 8th, shortly before 5.20am. A classroom was ransacked, with toys and paperwork strewn around. A memorial garden on the school grounds was also significantly damaged.

PSNI Appeal Following South Belfast Burglary
PSNI detectives have issued an appeal for information and witnesses following a burglary in south Belfast. Shortly after 6am on Monday, 8th January, it was reported to police that a break-in had occurred at a house in the Jerusalem Street area.

Campaigners at a pro-choice rally have handed abortion pills and a mini-robot, used to distribute the illegal medication, over to police during a protest outside Laganside Courts in Belfast. Prolonged Absence For Ulster's Chris Henry
Ulster Rugby player Chris Henry is facing a lengthy absence from the game after it was revealed he suffered a blocked blood vessel in his brain. The 30-year-old was named as part of the Ireland team due to face South Africa in Dublin on 8th November, but hours before the match, he was omitted from the team.
