North West 200 Rider Brought To Hospital Following Practice Crash

A North West 200 rider has been airlifted to hospital following a crash during an opening practice session today, 15 May.

The unnamed motorcyclist was involved in an incident with another driver at the University Corner section of the course and sustained some injuries.

Practice was delayed for around 45 minutes following the incident.

A further practice session will take place on Thursday morning, 17 May.

The opening three races of the meeting will take place later on Thursday.

Saturday, the main day of action, will see five races including both Superbike races.

John McGuinness In 'Good Spirits' After Crash At North West 200
Road racer John McGuinness is believed to be in "good spirits" after he crashed during a practice session at the North West 200. The collision happened during a Superbike practice session at Primrose Corner on Thursday, 11 May. The 45-year-old has undergone surgery at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast.

Co Down Road Reopens Following Fire
A County Down road has reopened following a fire on Friday, 14 July. The Church Street area in Downpatrick was closed and diversions were put in place. The fire was discovered by officers on mobile patrol who were in attendance at a flat and they raised the alarm and residents were able to exit their properties.
