Woman Arrested In Connection With North Belfast Hit And Run

A 30-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with a hit and run traffic collision in north Belfast during the early hours of Sunday, 13 May.

The suspect was arrested on suspicion of offences including arson; as well as a number of driving-related offences including aggravated taking and driving away, driving while disqualified and driving without insurance.

The PSNI said: "She is currently in custody assisting police with their enquiries."

Man Arrested After Class B Drugs Found In Van
A man has been arrested after he failed to stop for police in east Belfast and was in possession of Class B drugs with intent to supply. A van, which was travelling on the Castlereagh Road on Sunday night, failed to stop for police and was discovered a short time later crashed and abandoned on the Gransha Road.

Five to appear in court in connecton with Bangor robbery
Five youths are to appear in Downpatrick Magistrates Court today charged in connection with the robbery of an off-licence in Bangor on Tuesday night. Two youths, who entered the premises on the Rathgael Road, assaulted two female members of staff before making off with a sum of money and alcohol.

Man Arrested Following Police Chase In Lisburn
A man has been arrested following a police chase in Lisburn, Co Antrim. The pursuit started on the Brokerstown Road on Monday at around 4.30pm. Police tried to stop the silver Vauxhall Vectra after it was seen driving erratically. However, the car took off at speed onto the Knockmore Road and caused other drivers to swerve out of its way.

Shake-up For Learner Drivers In The Pipeline
The Environment Minister has tabled plans that amount to a radical shake-up of the rules for learner drivers. Teenagers could be able to get behind the wheel at the age of 16-and-a-half, and the 45mph speed limit for new drivers could be scrapped.

Man Charged In Connection With Hit And Run In L'Derry
A man has been charged in connection with a hit and run collision in L'Derry. The incident happened in the Abercorn Road area on 09 November last year. A male pedestrian was struck by a car and suffered head and leg injuries. Two men aged 18 and 19 were arrested after the incident.
