49-Year-Old Man Released In Matthew Boyd Murder Investigation

A 49-year-old man arrested in connection with the murder of Matthew Boyd 15 years ago has been released unconditionally, the PSNI have reported.

In January 1993, Mr Boyd was discovered slumped over the steering wheel of his car with two gunshot wounds on the Donaghmore Road outside Dungannon. He was taken to hospital but later died from his injuries.

Detectives from the Legacy Investigations Branch arrested the suspect in Belfast in connection with the investigation on Thursday. However, he has now been released.

Anyone who was in the Donaghmore Road area on 11 January 1993 and who witnessed the murder, or anyone with any information that can assist with the investigation, are asked to contact the Legacy Investigations Branch on 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
