Polls Open In West Tyrone By-Election
Polls have opened to choose a new MP for West Tyrone, in a by-election triggered by the resignation of Sinn Féin's Barry McElduff earlier this year.
Polling booths opened at 7am this morning, Thursday 03 May, and will close at 10pm.
Candidates from Northern Ireland's five main parties are represented on the ballot paper, including:
• Órfhlaith Begley, Sinn Féin
• Thomas Buchanan, Democratic Unionist Party (DUP)
• Stephen Donnelly, Alliance
• Daniel McCrossan, Social Democratic and Labour Party (SDLP)
• Chris Smyth, Ulster Unionist Party (UUP)
The last Westminster election in the constituency had a 68% turnout.
When polls close ballot boxes will be taken to Omagh, County Tyrone for the count.

Polls have opened across Northern Ireland to decide who will sit on local councils across the region. Voting began at 7am this morning, Thursday 18 May, and will close at 10pm tonight. Approximately 807 candidates are contesting 462 seats across NI – a full list of which can be found on the Electoral Office website.

Polling stations across NI are open as voting gets underway to elect 90 new members of the Northern Ireland Assembly. Polls opened at 7am this morning, 05 May, and will remain open until 10pm tonight at some 600 locations across NI. Approximately 239 candidates are competing for 90 seats across 18 constituencies.
