Investigation Launched After Burglars Steal Cash And Medication In L'Derry

An investigation has been launched after burglars stole medication from a house in Co L'Derry.

The incident happened in the Galliagh Park area just after 1am on Tuesday, 01 May.

The occupant was threatened at knifepoint and the suspects made off with cash and medication.

Two men, aged 23 and 24, were arrested and have been detained in police custody.

The PSNI are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Unused prescription medication is costing the Northern Ireland health service an estimated £18 million per year. An estimated 165 tonnes of unused prescriptions is returned to community pharmacies every year across Northern Ireland, costing the health service £650,000 annually to dispose of safely.
