Shop Worker Threatened With Knife In West Belfast Robbery

A female shop worker has been threatened with a knife during a burglary in west Belfast.

The incident happened in the Lanark Way area in the early hours of Friday, 27 April.

A man held the knife to a member of staff and demanded her to open the till.

He left the shop and also threatened another worker.

No-one was injured, however the staff were left shaken.

The suspect had his face covered and was wearing a medium length, puffa-style coat, dark navy or black stripe track bottoms, and black trainers with a white top.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Police investigating the armed robbery of a shop in Armoy, Co Antrim, on Saturday night have arrested two men. It is understood that two men armed with a gun and a knife threatened staff at a shop on Coolkeeran Road at about 19:00 on Saturday. The men made off with a quantity of cash and cigarettes. No-one was injured in the incident.

The incident happened at premises on the Crumlin Road at around 7.35pm on Sunday. The man, armed with a knife, threatened staff and made off with a quantity of cigarettes and alcohol.

Shop staff were threatened with a knife during a robbery in Portrush on Monday. At around 5:10pm a man wearing a balaclava, black sweatshirt, and blue jeans entered the Chemist shop and after threatening staff with a knife made off with a sum of money and a small quantity of drugs.

Woman threatened during armed robbery
A female shop assistant was threatened with a knife during an armed robbery at a convenience store in south Belfast last night. At around 7.20pm, a youth entered the shop on the Upper Lisburn Road and produced a large kitchen knife. He then ordered the staff member to open a till before leaving with a sum of cash.
