Churches Vandalised With Anti-Abortion Graffiti
Police have issued an appeal for information following a number of graffiti attacks on churches, which have been daubed with anti-abortion slogans.
In the latest attack, St Colmcille's Church in Carrickmore, Co Tyrone had a number of slogans painted on it, including "only DUP speaks for Irish unborn", referencing their anti-abortion stance.
It follows a similar attack on St Patrick's Cathedral in Armagh, which had "Save the 8th save Ireland" and "Sin (sic) Fein Irish baby killers speak up" painted on it's walls in pink paint.
The incident in Armagh is believed to have taken place between 11pm on Sunday and 8am on Monday 23 April, while the incident in Carrickmore is believed to have taken place sometime between 9:40pm on Monday and 08:05am on Tuesday 24 April.
Anyone with any information about either incident in asked to contact police.

Órfhlaith Begley said: "First and foremost this is a sectarian hate crime and those responsible should be brought to book.
"This disgraceful graffiti attack on Carrickmore Chapel is the second such attack on a church property in 24 hours.
"I have visited Carrickmore Chapel this morning, I have spoken to Father O’Neill and parishioners and people are incensed by this blatant sectarian vandalism.
"Anyone with any information on this hate crime should bring it forward to the PSNI."

Arson attacks on churches growing
A Catholic church in County Antrim targeted by arsonists is the most recent example of an alarming upsurge in attacks on churches in Northern Ireland. The fire at St Peter's the Rock in Stoneyford, Lisburn was started at about midnight on Wednesday August 15 but suffered only minor damage to pews and carpets in the church.

Sectarian Graffiti Threatening Workers Daubed On Wall In West Belfast
The Alliance Party has hit out after sectarian graffiti threatening workers was daubed on a wall in west Belfast. The graffiti was scrawled across a wall at Millennium Way, close to the Caterpillar plant. MLA Stewart Dickson condemned the attack and said it "will not be tolerated".

Over 400 Attacks On Religious Buildings Reported Since 2016
A Christian charity has called for more protections for places of worship in Northern Ireland after over 400 attacks in the last three years. Some 445 incidents of criminal damage to religious buildings, churchyards or cemeteries have been reported since 2016- a figure that amounts to one attack almost every other day.

A church in Belfast has scooped funding for urgent roof repairs. May Street Presbyterian Church, located in the Linen Conservation Area, has been awarded £10,000 from the National Churches Trusts. A total of £596,000 has been allocated for churches and chapels in England, Wales, Scotland and NI.
