Woman Killed In Serious North Belfast Car Crash

A woman has been killed following a serious traffic crash in north Belfast.

The victim was knocked down on the Ballysillan Road at around 10.55am on Thursday, 19 April.

It is understood the crash involved three cars and a truck. Police said one of the vehicles is suspected to have been stolen. One man was arrested at the scene.

Sinn Féin North Belfast MLA, Gerry Kelly, has extended condolences to the family and friends of the victim.

"The community was shocked to hear of the tragic death which occurred in the Ballysillan Road area of North Belfast," he said.

"This is the second tragedy to occur in North Belfast in just over twelve hours.

"I want to extend my condolences to the family and friends of the woman killed and ask anyone who may have been in the vicinity at the time of the incident to come forward with that information."

Woman Dies In Co Fermanagh Crash
A woman has died in a one-vehicle crash in Co Fermanagh. The collision happened on the Newbridge Road in Derrylin just after midnight on Saturday. Another woman and a man were taken to hospital to be treated. Their injuries are believed to be serious. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Pensioner 'badly shaken' after arson attack
An elderly woman has been described by police as "badly shaken up" after an arson attempt was made on her house in the early hours of this morning. Several hundred pounds worth of damage was caused to the property at Conneywarren Lane, in Ballysillan, north Belfast. It is not yet known how the fire was started.

One killed in North Antrim crash
One person has been killed in a road traffic collision on the Drones Road in Armoy, north Antrim. The victim was aged 23 and believed to be from Ballycastle. Police have warned motorists that diversions are currently in place between the Gracehill Road and the Carrowcrin Road. No further details are available at this time.
