Belfast City Council To Host 'Kickstart Your Business' Event

Belfast City Council have invited entrepreneurs, start-ups and new businesses to attend a free event showcasing the services and resources available to them.

Following a third consecutive year of growth in the number of businesses registered in Northern Ireland and an increase in investment in NI start-ups, Belfast City Council is keen to build on these positive trends and highlight Belfast as a great place to grow a business. 

As part of their drive to increase entrepreneurship and private sector business, the council's 'Kickstart Your Business' exhibition event aimed at entrepreneurs, start-ups and those interested in starting their own business will take place at Belfast City Hall on Tuesday, 27 March from 10am – 3pm.

Offering a 'one-stop-shop' on how you can best maintain and grow a successful business, attendees will benefit from a wealth of professional advice, thanks to key exhibitors including Invest NI, Enterprise NI, Federation of Small Businesses, local enterprise agencies, banks and more. 

Councillor Mairéad O'Donnell said: "We've committed through our Belfast Agenda to fostering business growth in the city, so we want to see Belfast business people from all sectors – and at all stages of development – joining us for our 'Kickstart Your Business' event. It will offer essential advice on everything from funding information and energy costs to legal expertise and tech innovations. 

"In 2017, we created over 300 jobs, thanks to our start-up programmes and links with innovative organisations. Kickstart Your Business will connect you with key organisations and help you to reach your full potential. If you're serious about growing your business, Belfast City Hall is where you need to be on 27 March."

Four successful NI-based entrepreneurs will also share their experiences of starting out on their entrepreneurial adventures. Linzi Rooney of Studio Souk, Jill Crawford, co-founder of Just Live a Little, Sarah Patterson of Little Pink Kitchen and Astra McNicholl from Itty Bitty Book Company will offer practical advice and invaluable insights into what to expect when starting a business, based on their journeys to date.
