Council Awarded Charter Status
Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council has received the prestigious Elected Member Development Charter award, a national standard of excellence gained by a small number of the UK's 400+ local authorities.
Councillor Nathan Anderson, Chairman of the Council's Elected Member Development Steering Group said: "There is a commitment from our Elected Members to deliver the best for our residents and businesses; and part of this is our willingness to enhance our skills in areas such as strategic approach and decision making. A robust support network of learning and development has been established and will be followed over the next three years of this National Charter Accreditation. Council Officers and Elected Members will continue to work together to deliver efficient services across the Lisburn Castlereagh area in the years ahead."

Council To Celebrate VE Day
Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council is to celebrate VE Day by lighting its civic headquarters building up red on 8, 9 and 10 May. In addition, a short beacon-lighting ceremony will take place in the grounds of Lagan Valley Island in Lisburn, the Council's headquarters at 9.32pm on Friday night.

The creation of 150 new cloud computing jobs at Dell’s Irish operating bases in Limerick and Dublin over the next two years will serve as “a shot in the arm to the ICT industry in both regions”. That’s according to the Chairman of the Limerick County Council and Limerick County Development Board, Cllr.
