Mayor Of Antrim And Newtownabbey Visits Brett Martin
The Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor Paul Hamill, recently visited Brett Martin to acknowledge its contribution to the area.
Speaking to the senior management team, the Mayor said: "As part of the ongoing Economic Development Strategy and Think Tank, I am actively reaching out to larger employers in the Borough to better understand their needs and see what role the Council can play in offering assistance. It has been excellent to meet with Brett Martin today and hear their plans for the future."
Managing Director, Laurence Martin commented: "It was my pleasure to host a visit for the Mayor at our site in Mallusk and demonstrate the skills and competencies of the company. We employ just over 400 people and any support the local Council can offer in assisting Brett Martin in future growth plans is gratefully received."

Brett Martin See Profit Slump
One of Northern Ireland's biggest building materials manufacturer has seen its pre-tax profits slump from £6.9m to £1.2m. Even though Co Antrim-based Brett Martin, is a global company with four sites in the UK and one in the Netherlands, it was also hit by a small fall in business group turnover, down from £112.4m in 2007 to £111.6m in 2008.

The company has announced an investment of £5.4m in the production of articulated truck axles.
