Translink Announces Price Rise In Bus And Rail Services

Translink has announced a price rise in it bus and rail services.

The overall fare will increase by 2.9% and fares on Metro, Ulsterbus and NI Railways are to be revised from Monday, 26 March.

Fare changes include:

• Metro Single cash fares (inner and extended zones only) will increase by 10p 

• Metro City Zone £2 fare -  no change – this is the most popular cash fare on Metro

• Metro Daylink/mlink fares: unlimited day travel £3 off peak / £3.50 peak - no change 

• Metro paper day ticket - £4 no change

• Ulsterbus cash single fares -  first increase in two years

• Ulsterbus 1/3 off day return introduced after 9.30am 

• Ulsterbus Town Service Day Travel Smartcards no change at £2.20

• Ulsterbus maximum cash single to be increased to £12.50

• iLink – integrated bus and rail smartcard available for 1 day reduced to £16

• Family Day Ticket fare £22.00 - no change.

Translink Brings Back Love Metro Saturdays
Translink has announced the return of its popular Love Metro Saturdays day ticket offering unlimited travel onboard Metro services throughout Belfast for just £2 every Saturday in February. In addition, Translink will provide free bus services from both Cairnshill and Black’' Road Park and Ride sites every Saturday in February.

Translink Announces Bus And Rail Fare Increases
Translink NI has announced fare increases on bus and rail services from Monday 03 June. The public transport provider has announced an increase its average fares by 6% for bus and 10% for rail. According to reports, Metro ticket prices will increase by an average of 10p, with Ulsterbus and Goldliner tickets potentially increasing by as much as 50p.

Two Men Arrested In Connection With Taxi Driver Robbery
Two men, aged 29 and 30, have been arrested on suspicion of a number of offences in connection with the robbery of a taxi driver in North Belfast in the early hours of Sunday 12 February. The taxi driver picked the men up from an address in the Ligoneil Road area shortly after 00.15.
