Concerns Raised Over Job Losses At Wrightbus
The SDLP has raised concerns after Wrightbus announced around 95 jobs are under threat in Northern Ireland.
The party's business spokesperson Pat Catney MLA and East Derry MLA John Dallat met with officials from trade union Unite over job losses and will also be meeting with transport providers across the island to advance discussions.
Mr Dallat said: "I held discussions with trade union representatives and I remain very concerned about the situation facing staff at Wrightbus.
"Off the back of what I've heard, I am requesting a meeting with Translink, Bus Éireann, Dublin Bus and with Minister Shane Ross in the Irish Government to advance discussions about how we can sustain transport manufacturing business at this level on the island.
"I will continue to do all I can to support and protect these workers."
