Father And Son Assaulted In Co Down

A father and son have been assaulted by three masked men in Co Down.

The incident happened at a house on the Castlewellan Road in Ballyward between 11.40pm on Thursday, 22 February, and 12.10am on Friday, 23 February.

Two men were injured and a woman was treated for shock. Their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

The three males made off with a sum of money.

Sinn Fein MLA Chris Hazzard said: "This is a vicious crime that has shocked the wider community.

"I am calling on anyone who may have any information about this armed robbery to come forward to the PSNI, and help bring these vicious criminals responsible to justice."

Two Men Attacked With Baseball Bats In Co Antrim
Two 18-year-old men have been attacked with baseball bats in Whitehead, Co Antrim. The victims were closing premises in the Balmoral Avenue area at around 8.30pm on Tuesday, 04 October when three men assaulted them. Both men were treated in hospital for their injuries. One has been discharged, and the other remains in hospital.

Three Arrested In Connection With Attempted Murder Of DCI Caldwell
Three men have been arrested under the terrorism act by police investigating the attempted murder of DCI John Caldwell in February. The men, aged 45, 47 and 58 were arrested in Newtownabbey, Coalisland and Belfast on Tuesday morning, 04 July. All three suspects have been remanded in custody.

Three Charged Over Strabane Funeral Incident
Three men are facing charges in connection with a disturbance at a funeral in Co Tyrone where a number of dangerous weapons were seized. The 17, 22 and 32 year-olds are charged with several offences, including possessing an offensive weapon and possessing an article with a blade or point in a public place.

Three Men Charged In Connection With Series Of Aggravated Burglaries
Three men have been charged with a number of offences in connection with a series of aggravated burglaries between 20 and 23 February. The men, aged 27, 30 and 35, are facing charges of aggravated burglary, stealing, false imprisonment, burglary, going equipped for burglary and handling stolen goods.
