Warning Issued Following Reports Of Device 'Left' In L'Derry

Police have warned the public in L'Derry to stay vigilant following reports a device was left in the Grafton Street area of the city.

A search was carried out, however nothing untoward was found.

Inspector Rosie Thompson said: "If anyone finds anything suspicious they should not touch or lift it. They should ring police immediately."

An explosive device found during a security alert in west Belfast was "designed to kill or seriously injure police officers", according to the PSNI. The alert, which has now ended, was on the Brians Well road area in Poleglass on Saturday, 14 January.

Search Continues For Explosive Device In L'Derry
Police are continuing to carry out searches in L'Derry after being informed that a suspicious device has been left in the city. The search, on the Madam's Bank Road, is resuming after being told an explosive device had been abandoned in the area. Residents and motorists are being urged to be vigilant.

Viable Incendiary Device Found On Police Station Grounds
A controlled explosion has been carried out on a viable incendiary device discovered on the grounds of Ballycastle Police Station, Co Antrim. A second device found has been declared a hoax. They were discovered on the Ramoan Road on Thursday morning. A number of businesses were forced to close during the alert, however they have now reopened.

Partially Exploded Pipe Bomb Discovered In L'Derry Garden
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information after a partially exploded pipe bomb was recovered in a security alert in L'Derry. The device was discovered in the garden of a property on Lincolm Court at about 2.10pm on Sunday 06 March. A number of homes in the area were evacuated as Army bomb disposal experts examined the scheme.

Viable Pipe Bomb Made Safe In L'Derry
An investigation has been launched following the discovery of a suspected pipe bomb in L'Derry last night. Police were alerted to reports of a suspicious device on Westland Street at around 8.45pm on Thursday. The road was closed and a number of houses were evacuated while a security operation was carried out.
