Two People Injured Following Fire At Block Of Flats In Newry

Two people have been injured following a fire at a block of flats in Newry.

The incident happened in the Marcus Square area on Saturday morning, 17 February.

A number of residents were also evacuated.

An investigation has been launched and no further details have been released.

Breeze Block Dropped On Police Car From Block Of Flats
Police have issued an appeal for information after a breeze block was thrown from a high-rise flat on to the roof of a patrol car. The "deliberate and reckless attack" occurred at Churchill House in the New Lodge shortly before 9pm on Tuesday 24 August.

Separate Arson Attacks Probed In Co Antrim
There was a petrol bomb attack in the Co Antrim port town of Larne at the weekend. The incident in Carson Street was reported to police shortly before 4am on Sunday and while no one was injured in the attack a car was damaged. The PSNI in Larne have appealed for anyone with information about the incident to come forward.

Fire Alarm System At Block Of Flats Worked 'As Expected' - NIFRS
The fire alarm system at a high-rise block of flats in the Dunmurry area of Belfast worked "as expected", according to the Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS). A blaze broke out on the ninth floor apartment in Coolmoyne House in Seymour Hill just after 5.30pm on Wednesday, 15 November.

Arson Attack At Block Of Flats In North Belfast
Police are investigating an arson attack on a block of flats in north Belfast. A fire was deliberately started in the downstairs area of the building on the Cliftonville Avenue at approximately 11.30pm on Tuesday night. Police and fire crews attended the scene and no-one was reported to be injured.
