MoreySmith To Create 13 New Jobs In Belfast

A London-based design and architecture practice has announced it is to create 13 new jobs in Belfast.

MoreySmith is to establish its second office in the city and Invest NI has offered the company £78,000 towards the new posts.

Alan Wilson, Director of International Investment at Invest Northern Ireland said: "MoreySmith has worked with a number of high profile clients including Sony Music, Primark, Coca-Cola, JP Morgan Investment and Ballymore (on Dublin Landings). They are now expecting to grow sales over the next three years, and are looking into expand further into the European market. To support this growth, MoreySmith has opened a new office in Belfast, offering exciting opportunities for local architects."

The new office will have an architectural bias, headed by Lesley Kelley, Director of Architecture.

He said: "We identified Belfast as the location to grow MoreySmith operations because of the strong range of skillsets Northern Ireland has to offer. There will be opportunities for recent university graduates, as well as experienced senior architects to work on fantastic schemes across Europe."

The new jobs will be created by 2020.

American Firm To Create 50 New Jobs
An American financial services firm is to create up to 50 new jobs in Belfast. Economy Minister Arlene Foster announced that Cowen International is to set up a technology research and development centre in the city. The centre will provide technology and support services to the Cowen Group and will be in charge of developing new technologies.
