Ten Councils To Increase Rates In NI
Ten out of 11 district council's in Northern Ireland are to increase rates from April this year.
Causeway Coast and Glens Council is not raising rates, for a third year successive year.
Newry Mourne and Down Council announced a 3.38% increase and Belfast City Council rates are rising by 1.98%.
In Belfast, the council said homeowners will see an increase of less than £1 per month.

Motorcyclist Seriously Injured In East Belfast Crash
A motorcyclist is in a serious condition in hospital following a crash in east Belfast on Wednesday evening. Police received a report of a collision involving a car and a scrambler motorcycle on Bloomfield Road shortly before 5.30pm. Emergency services attended the scene, and the motorcyclist, a man in his late teens, was taken to hospital.

Detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland's Organised Crime Branch have arrested five people in connection with a major drug trafficking operation. The arrests were made on Tuesday 10 and Wednesday 11 December following a series of raids in the Greater Belfast area.

Belfast Approves Housing And Student Projects
Belfast City Council's Planning Committee has approved several significant development projects in the city. Two social housing developments have been given the green light, including the redevelopment of the former Havelock House on Ormeau Road and the transformation of the former Belfast Metropolitan College campus on Whiterock Road.

Appeal For Information On West Belfast Burglary
Detectives in Belfast are appealing for information after a burglary in the Crocus Street area. Police said the incident occurred sometime between Saturday afternoon and 12.55am on Monday, December 9th. The homeowners returned to find their home ransacked. A watch, personal belongings, and a sum of cash were stolen.
