Man Arrested Over Stephen Warnock Murder Released

A 40-year-old man arrested in connection with the murder of Stephen Warnock has been released unconditionally.

Mr Warnock was fatally shot in Newtownards as he sat in his car in September 2002.

The senior LVF member was shot over 15 times by a gunman on a motorbike.

The suspect was detained in Belfast by detectives from the Legacy Investigations Branch.

Ambushed loyalist shot in the face
A leading loyalist has been shot and wounded in a murder bid in east Belfast last night. Jim Gray, who is in his 40s, was shot in the jaw as he got into his car at Glenlea Park, off the Old Holywood Road, at around 10.10pm last night. The gunman fired a number of shots at Mr Gray's BMW car as he got into it with another man.

Renewed Appeal On 22nd Anniversary Of Stephen Warnock Murder
Detectives from Legacy Investigation Branch, reviewing the murder of 35-year-old Stephen Warnock, in Newtownards in 2002, are appealing for information on the 22nd anniversary of his murder. Stephen died after being shot a number of times in his car while driving on the Circular Road in Newtownards at approximately 11.30 am on 13th September 2002.

Shot Man's Wounds 'Not Life Threatening'
A 35-year-old man has been shot twice in the leg inside a house in Twinbrook on the outskirts of Belfast. A young girl and a woman were in the house in the Summerhill Drive area when the attack happened on Wednesday night. However, it is not believed that the man's injuries are life threatening.

Man Shot Dead At Family Home In West Belfast
A man shot dead in West Belfast on Saturday 18 December has been named as 31-year-old Mark Hall. According to police, two gunmen approached Mr Hall's family home on Rodney Drive shortly after 4:30pm.
