Drink Driver Arrested After Car Ends Up On Its Side In Co Down

Police have issued a warning to motorists "never EVER to drink and drive".

Officers have released an image of a car which ended up on its side after a drink driver drove his car sideways, narrowly avoiding a dual carriageway in Co Down.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "Our drunken customer is now safely tucked away in a cell for the night after his arrest for numerous road offences.

"This driver is VERY lucky people were not killed or seriously injured."

A man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving after a police car chase in west Belfast. The PSNI saw a red Volkswagen driving in the Beechmount area with no lights on. They signalled for the vehicle to stop, however a pursuit commenced onto the Falls Road where it was stung by other officers from the auto crime team.
