Warning For Snow And Ice Issued Across NI

A yellow weather warning for snow and ice has been issued across Northern Ireland.

The warning is in place from 3am to 6pm on Wednesday, 31 January.

Temperatures are expected to drop rapidly overnight and frequent showers of rain, sleet, snow and hail will then also develop.

A Met Office spokesperson said: "Some snow is also possible to low levels at times, mainly overnight. Snow is expected to become confined to higher routes, mainly above 250 m on Wednesday afternoon."

Public transport may also be affected and motorists are being warned to take care on the roads.

Yellow Warning For Snow And Wind
A new Yellow Warning has been issued for wind and snow on Wednesday and Thursday this week, covering counties Antrim, Tyrone, Fermanagh, and Londonderry. The Met Office has said that temperatures are set to "drop sharply" on Wednesday evening with snow showers developing throughout the evening.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning from 6pm on Tuesday as snow and icy conditions are expected to continue into Wednesday morning. Heavy showers are expected this evening with snow on high ground, and strong to gale force winds.

A yellow weather warning for snow has been extended across Northern Ireland. The warning has been put in place from 6pm on Wednesday, 17 January, until 6am on Thursday. A spokesperson from the Met Office said: "A deepening area of low pressure is expected to track east across the UK during Wednesday night and early Thursday.

A yellow weather warning for snow and ice has been issued across Northern Ireland. The alert is in place from 2am on Tuesday, 13 February, until 10am. Heavy rain is expected to turn to snow and temperatures are expected to drop quickly. Ice is to form on untreated roads and travel may be disrupted.

A second yellow weather warning for ice has been issued across Northern Ireland. The warning has been put in place from 6pm on Wednesday, 31 January, until 10am on Thursday, 01 February. Following a spell of rain, sleet and snow, temperatures are expected to fall quickly allowing ice to form on untreated surfaces.
