Armed Man Robs Shop In South Belfast

A man, armed with a suspected firearm, has robbed a shop in south Belfast.

The incident happened at commercial premises on the Lisburn Road at around 10.30pm on Tuesday, 23 January.

The man threatened a staff member and a customer and made off with a sum of cash.

The suspect had a cloth over his face and was wearing a black hooded top, blue jeans with turn-ups and black shoes with white soles.

No-one was injured however the two victims were left shaken.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

A man armed with a handgun has robbed an off-licence in the University Road area of south Belfast. Shortly after 7pm, a man entered the premises and produced a handgun and demanded money from the till. The man made off with an undisclosed sum of money.

Suspected Gun Held To Man's Head In South Belfast
Police are appealing for information after two masked men got into a man's car and held a suspected gun to his head in south Belfast. The man was parking his car in the Broadway area at around 4.30am on Friday and two men, who were wearing balaclavas, entered the car. They held what is believed to be a gun to his head.

Man Arrested Over Assault On Pensioner
A man has been arrested following an assault on a 72-year-old at his home on the Doagh Road are of Newtownabbey on Saturday. The elderly man received a suspected broken ankle and cuts to his face in the attack. The 20-year-old remains in custody for questioning.
