Yellow Warning For Strong Winds Issued In NI
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for strong winds throughout Northern Ireland.
The warning comes into place at 1am on Wednesday, 24 January, until 2pm.
Gusts of up to 50 to 60mph are expected.
The high winds may affect public transport services and delays are expected.
A Met Office spokesperson said: "Over Northern Ireland peak winds are expected during the early hours of Wednesday. Over western Scotland, including the Western Isles, the highest winds are expected to be late in the night and early on Wednesday morning and thus coincide with the morning rush hour. By late morning and early afternoon the highest winds will be confined to the far north of mainland Scotland, Orkney and Shetland."
Motorists and the public are being urged to take extra care.

Heavy Winds To Batter NI
Northern Ireland is set to be battered by heavy winds later today, the Met Office has warned. A yellow weather alert has been issued with some disruption expected, particularly in the more exposed areas. Winds are set to pick up at around 3pm on Thursday, with a yellow weather warning in place throughout the evening. "A spell of strong south-easterly winds may bring some transport disruption later on Thursday," the Met Office said.

The warning is in place until 3pm on Thursday, 14 June, and as Storm Hector hits NI winds of up to 60-70mph are expected in some areas. Rathgael Road in Bangor remains closed due to a fallen tree and repairs are currently being carried out.
