Man Murdered In East Belfast Named

A man murdered in a flat in east Belfast has been named as Mark Ponisi.

The body of the 54-year-old was found at a property in the London Road area on Saturday, 20 January.

He had a number of injuries to his head and face.

A post-mortem examination is to be carried out to determine the cause of death.

A man and woman are being questioned on suspicion of murder.

Man Murdered In Coalisland Named
Police have named a man whose body was found in a garage in Co Tyrone. The body of Gediminas Stauskas, 32, was discovered in the Moor Road area in Coalisland at around 1pm on Thursday. Mr Stauskas was a Lithuanian national with connections in the Dungannon area.

Murdered Armagh Man Named
The man who was found murdered in his flat in Armagh on Friday has been named by police as Kevin Fletcher. The body of the 32-year-old was found in the apartment in Castle Street around 11:45am on Friday. A cousin of Kevin's told the BBC that he had been to bingo with his mother on Thursday evening, but had not been seen since.

Man Murdered In South Belfast Named
The man murdered in a shooting attack in south Belfast has been named. Stephen Carson (28) was shot at his home at around 10.45pm on Thursday. It is understand that at least three men, armed with a shotgun and a hammer, entered the house in Walmer Street. There was a confrontation and Mr Carson made his way into the downstairs bathroom.
