Man Arrested Following Security Alert In L'Derry

A man has been arrested following a security alert in Co L'Derry.

A number of residents were evacuated from their homes in the Ederowen Park area on Wednesday night, 13 December.

Police attended the scene and a suspicious object was found as well as a number of other items which have been taken away for further examination.

The 39-year-old suspect is assisting police with their enquiries.

The investigation is ongoing.

A 22-year-old man has been arrested in L'Derry in connection with a hijacking and subsequent security alert in the Waterside area on Sunday 20 November, 2022. The man was arrested under the Terrorism Act, and has been taken to the Serious Crime Suite at Musgrave Police Station to be questioned.

Security Alert In L'Derry
A security alert has been sparked in L'Derry following the discovery of a suspicious object. The alert at the Eastway/Laburnum area was raised following discovery of the device. A number of residents have been evacuated. An army bomb disposal team is attending the scene and diversions are in place.

Homes Evacuated During L'Derry Security Alert
A number of homes have been evacuated during a security alert in L'Derry. The incident happened when a man reported that a "suspicious object" was thrown at his house on Heron Way at about 10.30pm on Monday, 21 August. Police discovered the object in the front garden of his house.

Masked Men Fire Shots In L'Derry
Police say it's lucky no-one was injured after a number of shots were fired in L'Derry. Masked men are reported to have fired the shots in the Ballymagroarty area of the city at around 9pm on Wednesday 04 March. An investigation is ongoing.
