Man's body found in Belfast

A man's body has been found in Belfast city centre on Wednesday.

The body was found at Fulton Street, near the city centre shortly before 9am.

It was immediately reported to police who have cordoned off the area.

There are no further details at present.

Police have issued an appeal for the parents of a baby boy found dead on the banks of the River Lagan on 21 February 1984. A woman out walking her dog found the babies body inside a green plastic bag at Legacurry Road in Lisburn 30 years ago. A post-mortem examination found that the baby had died of head injuries.

Discovery of man's body not 'suspicious'
A man found dead close to Belfast city centre on Wednesday has been named as Hugh Thompson of Lord Street in east Belfast. The 57-year-old man's body was discovered at Fulton Street shortly before 9am. Although the area was immediately cordoned off by police, the death is not being treated as suspicious.

Man Found Stabbed In Belfast City Centre
Police believe "no crime was committed" after a man was found with stab wounds in Belfast city centre on Wednesday, 21 December. Emergency services were called after the man was discovered near the Christmas Market at Belfast City Hall. He is being treated in hospital where his condition has been described as stable.
